SSDI Benefits Estimator

Installed-cost estimates grounded in your area's labor rates, climate zone, and rebate programs. Start with a national estimate below, or jump to your state for the local numbers.

Typical yearly income (before the disability)

How the estimate works

SSDI is not need-based — your monthly benefit is calculated from your lifetime earnings using Social Security's own formula (the "primary insurance amount"). Higher career earnings mean a higher check, up to the yearly cap.

We apply the current-year formula to typical career earnings for your income range and show a range, because your exact benefit depends on your full 35-year earnings record — which only SSA has.

Your answers to the other questions don't change the dollar estimate; they tell you (and any advocate you talk to) how strong a claim looks under SSA's rules.
